Isn’t it annoying when these new rebel leaders turn out to be those terrorists the UK and USA were exporting to Libya to be tortured?

[…] bees can be a fantastic tool for encouraging emotional literacy. For the same reason that beekeeping is great for those with felony convictions, it can also help children to better understand and control their anger and improve their behaviour. As any bee-keeper will tell you, opening a hive when you are in a bad mood is a very silly idea. One UK school is finding this out in very practical terms, having gone from trying to remove an uninvited swarm, to adopting a school hive of its own. While revenue from honey sales is a welcome boost, it’s the improvement in unruly kids’ behaviour that has been most striking.

Outbound space probe Juno looks back at tiny Earth and Moon. Awesome.
On my request, my friends at WPMUdev kindly implemented a Quick Status WordPress plugin for me.
It works similar to the status update dialog in Facebook/Google+ where you enter a link, the system looks up the page and tries to pick out a sane title, abstract and thumbnail image or video – which you can then edit (something FB/G+ don’t allow you to do for all fields).
See the demo video:
None of the implementations are perfect, but quick-status been pretty handy so far. I’ve just asked for one more feature, a “Save as Draft” button since some links are not time critical and should be scheduled for later posting.

Linux is the granddaddy of all open source projects, the blueprint for the decentralized development processes. And some of those who use the Linux code, free for the taking, don’t give back in equal measure. Still, the time for cajoling those users — even commercial projects like Ubuntu leader Canonical — into participating is over, says Jim Zemlin, executive director of the nonprofit Linux Foundation.
