I looked particularly at the eyes, there’s a huge difference. Eyes are very telling. Lives destroyed. Not just those killed, but also those that return. And it also affects their families and friends. For a long time.

A long time ago I wrote “war costs you an arm and a leg” which was a teenager’s smartypants wordplay. It really costs so much more. It’s truly unaffordable.

Recipe: pasta with haloumi

Having to use up some fresh ingredients often makes for interesting new recipes and flavour experiences:

  • haloumi cheeseĀ (home made in my case), cut in to small slices, fry separately in virgin olive oil, set aside.
  • red onion
  • chopped fresh garlic
  • zucchini (courgette)
  • roma tomatoes
  • cracked pepper
  • some rosemary
  • toss haloumi in to the mix.
  • serve on pasta.
None of it needs much cooking, keep it fresh and quick!
Careful adding any salt, depends a bit on how you do the haloumi. A bit of lemon juice can also be good.
