Consulting & Advisory Services

We can advise on Open Source and related Business Strategy, Community, Intellectual Property and Licensing questions. This could be about existing software that you consider using, or about software you are developing yourself, possibly wondering what the most suitable business model might be (and if Open Source is an option).

If you tell us a little bit more about your business, we may also be able to help you with creative ideas about products, markets, development and marketing methods, and business in general. Not that we know everything, but it's sometimes nice to get an outside perspective on things! We can also refer you to other people who are expert in particular areas.

Magic Under the Hood

We don't design websites - mostly we work on infrastructure, components that might be used for web sites. We link things that communicate. Our work makes other magic possible, and keeps it running smoothly.

The building blocks we generally prefer to use are solid Open Source tools.

History

Lentz Internet Services in its current form was established in 2004 (ABN 22 018 932 540), but it is actually a continuation of Lentz Software Development (1990-2001) based in The Netherlands, before Arjen moved to Australia. It predated the modern web, building email and other electronic communication software (Xenia FidoNet mailer/editor, Hydra bidirectional file transfer protocol) for use over modem links. Some of this software is still in use today, in places as far apart as Germany, Lithuania, South America and East Timor.
